Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) detained a drug peddler with two kg of hemp from Pathorghata upazila of Barguna district on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified as Md Emon, 21, the resident of Bashtala area under ward no. 4 of Nachnapara union in Pathorghata upazila.
Media officer of the BCG Headquarters Lt Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi confirmed the matter a press release on Wednesday.
He said acting on a tip-off, BCG station Pathorghata under the Southern Zone of BCG conducted a special drive in Gyanpara area at Nachnapara union in Pathorghata upazila on Tuesday.
During the drive, Md Emon was detained with two kg of hemp.
He further said the detainee was handed over to Pathorghata police station along with all evidences for further legal action.
