The possibility of reduction in ban of Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is very little. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) legal team are still trying to work out any possible step that would reduce the ban imposed by International Cricket Council (ICC).

Shakib is suspended for 2 years and banned for 1 year. If he does not break any further rules of the ICC in and participates in the ICC's educational program as per the conditions, he will be able to get on the field after 1 year.

Shakib accepted the ICC penalty. So there is no scope of appeal. Still, the board is keen to see if there is any opportunity to reduce the ban time, said BCB chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.

“As Shakib accepted the punishment, the scope of the BCB to do something is limited in this matter. Yet of course we will look at legal issues, how much

work there is to do. We have already spoken to our Legal Department. They are analyzing the situation. We'll talk about whether there is any chance to reduce Shakib’s ban. "

If a cricketer, gets banned and then complies with ICC on every terms than ICC relax that player’s punishment. However, this is usually done in the case of long-term sanctions. In Shakib's case, that consideration is even less. There may be a chance of him getting permission to return to domestic cricket earlier than international cricket. But we’ll get to know that after few days.
