The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to send all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin to England to receive treatment for a chronic back injury. BCB directors called Saifuddin for a discussion on Saturday and informed him of the decision, report agencies.
The 21-year-old all-rounder has been suffering from back pain since the World Cup. Saifuddin said he sustained this injury during his age-level cricket, which was never healed properly.
While talking to media on Saturday Saifuddin said, "I have been suffering this pain in a specific area of the waist. I sustained the pain eight-nine years ago. It was never treated properly." Debashis Chowdhury, the chief physician of BCB, said Saifuddin does not require surgery. But he did not reveal any treatment or rehabilitate the all-rounder.
"It was an old plan to send Saifuddin to England for the treatment. I am not sure about the way of treating him. I am not at the office now. I can assure it once I come to the office on Sunday," Debashis said.
Saifuddin did well in the World Cup, especially with the ball. He played the role of a strike bowler of the Tigers in the marquee event of cricket in England and Wales. He took 13 wickets to become the second most successful bowler for Bangladesh after Mustafizur Rahman who bagged 20 scalps.
