Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that they have plans to provide the entire year salary of the Women’s cricket team’s players this month, reports agencies.

The bulk of the people can’t work properly for which financial constraint is seen everywhere during the difficult period of the coronavirus pandemic. The news of irregularities at various non-governmental organizations is being heard for the instrumentality of the media.

The lower and middle-class people are leading their life in the most distressed way. This time the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is showing their generosity towards its employees and cricketers. From cricketers to groundsmen, everyone is getting financial support in various ways to survive in this pandemic. Even, they are also getting their regular dues from the board.

Currently the BCB women’s wing has 19 centrally contracted women cricketers, who are getting their one year salary just at a stretch.

The matter has been confirmed by Tawhid Mahmood, operations in-charge of the BCB women’s wing department.

“It was part of our regular routine. We pay the one-year salary of the contracted women cricketers of the national team between June and July every year,” Tawhid Mahmood said.

“Considering the corona situation, we are trying to pay their dues in June. We have already started work. I hope they will get it soon,” Mahmood told a Bengali daily.

However, Tawhid informed that the women’s team asked them to provide the salary at one time instead of giving monthly for which they are doing it on the basis of the demands of the women’s cricketers.

“The cricketers of our women's team have urged that they want to take their salary all at once not on a monthly basis. This gives them a chance to do something big. That’s why we pay the one-year contract money at once as they claimed. This is happening again,” he responded.

The veteran pacer Jahanara Alam expressed her joy about getting the money and showed her gratitude towards the BCB and its women’s wing.

Drawing an example, the pace spearhead of the Bangladesh women’s cricket team said they provided them money before the eid beside their one-time financial assistance.

“The BCB has been very supportive to us all in this corona time,” Jaharana Alam said.

“For example, in the beginning, they paid Tk. 20 thousand and before Eid they gave Tk. eight thousand. This time we are getting one-year contract money by June. For this reason, we will be able to be mentally strong,” Jahanara told this reporter.
