Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to appoint David Moore as Head of Programme, on the lines of Director of Coaching in other parts of the world. Cricbuzz earlier reported that BCB is planning to recruit a head of programme and its chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told this website on Wednesday that Moore's appointment is all but confirmed.

"We are all set to appoint him (Moore) as our head of programme," Nizamuddin said. "Usually in this kind of position a candidate is appointed for two years," he added.

The Head of Programme will be entrusted with the idea of bridging the gap between the national team and other units that are just behind the national team, like the High-Performance Unit and the Bangladesh Tigers programme.

Moore, who played one first-class game for New South Wales in the 1980s, was appointed as the NSW general manager of cricket performance in 2014. Moore was acting head coach of West Indies in 2007 after the departure of Bennett King and later served as coach of Bermuda as well. Moore was a senior coach at the Centre of Excellence in Australia from 2002 to 2004.

Moore joined Bennett King at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy (CBCA) in Adelaide in 2002 and later moved to West Indies in 2004 along with King after the latter replaced Gus Logie as head coach of West Indies.

Moore immediately accepted the head coach role of West Indies when King resigned from the post following West Indies' poor campaign in the 2007 World Cup.
