Bangladesh Cricket Board wants to ensure the Covid-19 test for the players and those who are directly related to the sports by any means before the cricketers return to the field, report agencies.

Due to the coronavirus, all kinds of cricket activities in Bangladesh have been stopped for the last one and a half months. The same picture exists in the whole cricket world.

It is unknown to everyone at this time that when will cricket will resume after getting rid of this corona situation. But the panic of corona is everywhere. Because many people are caught corona positive even without any symptoms.  So, there is no alternative to than to do the test to know if a person is corona infected or not.

Bangladesh cricketers will also have to take the Covid-19 test before going on the field after the corona crisis. BCB will test in the interest of everyone's safety.

Not just cricketers but everyone who is directly involved with the game will be tested. Where coaches, physios, trainers, umpires and everyone will be under this test.

BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury said that the Covid-19 test should be conducted for the safety of all before the start of the game. Bangladesh is still conducting the test under government management.

If the test under private management don't start before the start of the game, then they will make an application to the government for permission to conduct the test.

"See, Covid test is not yet available in the private sector management, it is still going on under government management and there are some protocol to run these test under government management.

The person who doesn't have any symptoms he or she will not be tested. So we are hoping that in the next one-month government will open this in the private sector management.

Like, you can go and test in Apollo or United, I mean you can test if you want to. If this option doesn't get open then we don't have anything to do," BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury said.

"Obviously we will try to test our players, then we might approach to the government, that despite not having any symptoms in our players we want to run the test on them for only safety reason.

Then if the government help us then we will do this. And if they open it in the private sector then we can go to the private easily," He said

"But it is important to do the test it can be either Covid or antibody test so that you will become sure about it. Also not only the player those who are related to the sports, physio, trainer, doctor everyone has to have the test," He added.

Bangladesh has been in unofficial lockdown since March 26 and until Tuesday afternoon the country reported 10,929 Covid-19 cases as the country recorded the highest single-day cases with 786 more people testing positive.

Bangladesh, however witnessed a fall in death figures as only one individual died of Covid-19 over the same period, taking the number of fatalities to 183 in the country.
