BCB looking for an ideal T-20 squad

Looking forward to upcoming ICC T-20 World Cup, Bangladesh national team likely to be announced today or tomorrow after a disappointing performances in the Asia Cup Cricket.

Now, all are awaiting to watch the squad for the World Cup, what the changes are coming in the team or it would be as it was in the Asia Cup.

But the question is that whether the selectors will have any couple of performers, who can salvage the team from disaster, as there were an inconceivable bounce back of some of the Sri Lankan players with heroic characters after the nightmare of opening match of the Asia Cup that steered Sri Lanka to end up with victory.

Sri Lanka began the tournament with watching a nightmare in their opening match and it was simply unbelievable that they could end with taking home the Asia Cup trophy.

The team, who were just demolished in their opener by the opponents (Afghanistan) with eight wickets defeat failing to play full 20 overs could manage a paltry total (105) before being all out in 19.4 overs, could turned into indomitable in rest of five matches to thump, outclassed with the bat, outsmarted with the ball all the teams.

Hanukah Rajapaksa, Hasaranga, Pramod Madushan, Kushal Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Mendis, Danushka Guathilaka, Prathum Nissanka, all were the heroes to contribut in Sri Lankan triumph.

All the players did not click in every game but in the crucial time or in a danger period of the team any of them or any of the pairs appeared with huge commitments to retrieve the team from tough situation finally win the match.

Of course, some of the players have tremendous consistence throughout the tournament, especially, the captain Dasun Shanaka, Prathum Nisanka and Kusal Mendia were very much remarkable. But only Bhanuka Rajapaksa were different to all, when the middle order bats exposed his incredible performance playing a big role in every match, apart from two runs against Bangladesh, his innings were against Pakistan 24 off 19 balls and 71 off 45 ball (unbeaten in the final), 25 off 177 ball against India, 31 from 14 ball and 38 from 29 balls against Afghanistan.

But it’s might be a hard luck that Bangladesh yet to get any Rajapaksa, Hasaranga, Madusan, Kusal Mendis or even a Rahmanullah Gurlbaz, who could be a reliable hands to play remarkable innings. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) till now struggling to have such a team and a team’s leader who are able to outdo the opponents in the field, out-thought in the captaincy department as an exciting Sri Lankan performance which wrapped up a commanding performance.

The BCB in a bid to revive the tongue-tied condition of the team have been appointing specialist coaches for different format of cricket and departments, as this time Sridharan Sriram, a former Indian cricketer for T-20 team given the charge ahead of the World Cup.

He may change the batting order when he also tipped Liton Das and Afif Hossain will bat at four and fifth place. According to his observation, Liton and Afif are appropriate for the fourth and fifth bats accordingly when his judgement is, after the power play there need the bats who can hit boundary.

However, now it’s a big concern that the squad BCB will announce would be able to prove them at least with some electrifying performing rather than to win the World Cup and might be all cricket fans’ demand and looking for the that positive approach of the boys.
