Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is all set to host the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League as they are leaving no stones unturned to make it a success through hosting a mega opening ceremony followed by some blazing brand of cricket in the following days, reports Cricfrenzy.
BCB ground committee decided that no teams could practice in the academy premises during the next two days as they are preparing nets so that they can allocate practice facilities to the seven teams, who are expected to start their preparation from December 4.
BBPL, which is named after the father of the nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 100th birth anniversary, is scheduled to start from December 11 while BCB is planning to host the opening ceremony on December 8.
BCB is eyeing to host a historical inaugural ceremony while the nation’s high cricket official body also taking the matter seriously in terms of improving the facilities from players’ academy fields to the audience gallery.
Ahead of Bangabandhu BPL, which is starting from December 11, BCB director, Sheikh Sohel has already confirmed the arrival of the Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif for the opening ceremony, which is all set to hit the floors on December 8 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The director of the board also acknowledged the presence of local band music fascination James and profound singer Momtaz for the six-hour long inaugural ceremony.
Apart from them, singer Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher’s presence will also increase the hype of opening ceremony that BCB is looking make grand.
“We have already said that this time the arrangements will be historical. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Bangabandhu BPL” BCB director Sohel told reporters.
“We have already ensured the arrival of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. They will come and perform on stage. We have also confirmed James and Momtaz from our country. In addition, there will be more.
“When everything will be confirmed then we can reveal it properly. Moreover, there will be two world famous singers. We will inform the names in one or two days,” the BCB director added.
As heard, the dance groups will also start their rehearsal with six days remaining for the opening function.
The six hours long opening ceremony will end at 10 pm (local time), while the gate will be opened from 3 pm (local time). The gate closing time is set at 5 pm (local time) for security concern, as BCB seems not to comprise security assurance.
The highest range of tickets for the opening ceremony will be taka ten thousand, which BCB will start selling out before two days of the opening, function as VIP tickets. There will also two different criteria of tickets at the cost of taka five thousand and one thousand
With intentions to make the opening ceremony grand for the upcoming Bangabandhu BPL, BCB has also done some groundwork fixing the wrecked chairs in the galleries while BCB is also preparing the academy field on top-notch keeping the preparation comfort for seven teams in mind ahead of the tournament
The first part of Bangabandhu BPL will start at the home cricket national cricket, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium including the opening ceremony
Chattogram Challengers will be facing Sylhet Thunders on the first show in the opening match of BPL-2019 while Cumilla Warriors will be countering Rangpur Rangers in the second game of the day on December 11. BBPL will also be played in Chattogram and Sylhet and according to officials, they are also working day and night to make sure that
everything is in proper condition before the T20 tournament comes
into their city.
