The Bangladesh Cricket Board is awaiting the fate of the Asia Cup to decide on a training camp for the national cricketers, reports agencies.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will meet on July 9 to determine if the tournament can be played.

Should there be a green signal in this regard, Bangladesh will select a 24-member squad for a camp in July-August for training specifically for white-ball cricket. BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Saturday.

"There is a meeting on July 9 and we are expecting to have a clear picture about the tournament after that meeting.

If the Asia Cup is played, we will select a 24-member squad

for the training camp scheduled in July-August that will be filled with white ball cricketers," said Minhajul. "If the Asia Cup is not on the cards, we will form the camp with 37 cricketers emphasizing majorly on fitness in the initial stage before moving towards skill training."

"All the cricketers are out of the field for about four months and so we are initially planning to focus on fitness more than anything else.

That is expected to be for three weeks and later we will shift to skill training," said Minhjaul.

"We will take the advice of the medical board as they will be involved with the camp.

It is possible that we'll hold the training (sessions) in three parts by splitting the cricke

ters included for the camp,''  he said.
