Bangladesh Bank (BB) is going to release regular currency notes, commemorative notes and silver commemorative coins of Tk 50 denomination marking the ‘Golden Jubilee of Independence’.
The measurement of the new note is 130 x 60 millimeter and the new note will be available at BB’s Motijheel Branch on March 28, said a press release.
Keeping the colour and design of the existing Tk 50 note intact, such as front-side design, portrait of Bangabandhu, back-side design as usual, the BB has included a separate commemorative red-green logo in water-colour area of the right side of the note's front-part.
Printed in a 100 percent cotton-paper, the new currency contains the signature of BB Governor Fazle Kabir. Its other security feature such as security thread, water-colour, micro-print, uneven writing of the front side remained as usual.
In the middle of the upper side the words 'Swadhinatar Subarna Joyanti 1971-2021' and in the middle of the lower part the words 'FIFTY TAKA' are inscribed.
In back side, the note contains a picture of valiant freedom fighters '1971: Mutijodhader Birattapurna Agrajatra'. Later, the note will be available at all branches of the central bank, the release added.
