Rupali Bank Limited, a leading state run bank, has successfully disbursed 100% of the fund amounting 63.50 crore taka among 6,199 farmers across the country.
The fund, under the refinancing scheme of Bangladesh Bank, was disbursed through 586 branches across the country in the particular sectors like horticulture, fisheries, poultry, dairy & livestock sector.
Rupali Bank Limited has been awarded with letter of appreciation by Bangladesh Bank for 100% disbursement of special stimulus refinance scheme for Covid-19 affected agricultural sector. Because of successful disbursement of the total amount of the refinance scheme in the agriculture sector, the bank has been recognized by the central bank. Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir handed over the letter to Rupali Bank Limited Managing Director & CEO Md. ObayedUllah Al Masud at Bangladesh Bank A. N. Hamidullah conference room on Wednesday.
Among others, Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor AKM Sajedur Rahman Khan and Rupali Bank Limited General Manager of Agriculture, Rural credit & Microcredit Division Md. Golam Mortuza were present.
Bangladesh Bank formulated a refinancing stimulus package of 5,000 crore taka for supplying working capital at low interest to provide financial assistance to farmers in rural areas for boosting agricultural production facing the fallout of Covid-19.
