Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) providers to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transactions for providing cash assistance to 50 lakh poor families amid COVID-19 crisis.
To this end, the central bank instructed MFS providers to keep sufficient money at agent points so that the beneficiaries of government-announced cash assistance can withdraw money smoothly, as per a BB circular issued on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today launched the disbursement of Taka 1,250 crore cash assistance among 50 lakh poor families hit hard amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
