Bayern president confirms club’s interest in Kane

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has confirmed that his club are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane during this summer's transfer window.

The speculation surrounding the England captain's future continues to gather pace, with Bayern believed to be increasingly confident of bringing him to Allianz Arena in the current market. Tottenham's majority owner Joe Lewis has allegedly told chairman Daniel Levy that Kane will have to be sold this summer if he does not sign a new deal with the capital giants.

Manchester United continue to be linked with the 29-year-old, but it is still highly unlikely that Spurs will sanction a sale to a Premier League rival. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest, but Bayern are seen as the firm favourites to sign the Three Lions skipper during the current market.

Hainer has branded Kane "a highly attractive player" and said that the forward's arrival in Munich would help the club and the Bundesliga.

"Here in the Bundesliga we don't have many international stars any more,' Hainer told Kicker. "Bayern always try to bring in stars. Harry Kane is a highly attractive player, the England captain and a top scorer. He would do us and the Bundesliga good."
