Baul son sings to collect money for mother’s treatment

A 29-year-old young man Abdur Rashid, better known as Rashid Baul hails from Jhaudia village in Kushtia Sadar upazila has been singing here and there to ensure the treatment, medicine and other expenses for his old-aged mother. The mother needs a costly surgery for her eyes.

A close fan for Fakir Lalon Shah, the man was singing at Jhenidah central bus terminal with his Dotara. The theme of his songs was to beg mercy to the Almighty who could solve those all.

Talking to this Correspondent Rashid Baul said the physicians of Jhenaidah Eye Hospital had conducted surgery of his mother a few weeks back. Surgery of another eye was required at an early date that costs an amount. As he (Rashid) does not have the capability, he sings Lalon and attracts the people for the same.

Rashid, said to be an artiste of Kushtia Laon Academy said he could not marry when his mother fallen sick for her old age and some other physical complications for last couple of years. His regular income from the academy went lower due to global pandemic corona virus which thrown him in financial hardship.

The Lalon fan when asked said a number of Lalon fans addict in ganja, tari and some other drugs, while he did not touch the same in his life anyway. Any addiction does not prove the respect to the great human being like Lalon Shah, he said.
