BATB's 'Bonayan' project to plant 50 lakh saplings

Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina has announced to plant one crore saplings across the country on the occasion of the Mujib Year, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Following this, BAT Bangladesh's 'Bonayan' project is working with the aim of planting 50 lakh saplings across the country this year.

As part of this, the ‘Bonayan’ project has provided 5,000 saplings at Kazi Para in Mirpur, Dhaka under the supervision of the Standing Committee on Environmental Development of Dhaka North City Corporation.

British American Tobacco Bangladesh's (BAT Bangladesh) 'Bonayan' project is cooperating by greening with a total of one lac saplings across Dhaka city.

As part of which, BAT Bangladesh's representative in East Shewrapara, Mirpur recently handed over 5,000 saplings to Ward 14 Councilor Humayun Rashid Johnny.

Ahmed Raihan Ahsanullah, Senior Sustainability Affairs Manager, BAT Bangladesh, said, “This year marks the 40th anniversary of our ‘Bonayan’ project. This year, under the ‘Bonayan’ project - in collaboration with the Nagorik Dhaka Foundation, BAT Bangladesh has undertaken a program to plant 1 lakh saplings in Dhaka city.

 We are very proud to have Dhaka City Corporation with us in this endeavor to build a green Dhaka. "

Earlier on August 25, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated a program to plant 1 lakh saplings in the area at (DNCC).
