Referring to the rapid growth of Bangladesh's information technology sector, President of Bangladesh Association of Software Information Services (BASIS) Russell T. Ahmed urged Japanese IT businessmen to invest in Bangladesh.
He made the call in a seminar titled 'Digital Bangladesh: Your IT Destination' at the Japan IT Week 2023 held at the Tokyo Big Site in Japan on Wednesday.
BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed said, “Bangladesh is the next destination for IT investors. Bangladeshi IT companies are capable of providing products and services according to any international demand. Bangladesh's success in the international software and app market is also enviable. Bangladesh is walking on the right way to implement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's vision of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041 and BASIS is working as a partner of the government. "
He further said, “BASIS has been working for several years to explore Japan's IT market and facilitate Japanese investment in Bangladesh in building a Smart Bangladesh and real development of the ICT sector. Bangladesh's fast-moving IT or ITES sector is poised to open up new opportunities for Japanese ICT entrepreneurs and investors. Japan and Bangladesh have a deep sense of brotherhood. "
At the seminar, BASIS Director AKM Ahmedul Islam BABU presented the slide presentation. He said, “Bangladeshi IT companies have received good response by participating in Japan IT week in the last few years. ”
Dr. ArifulHaque, Minister (Commerce), Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo also presented a slide presentation. Shahabuddin Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan gave a welcome speech at the seminar.
However, a delegation of 27 members from 15 BASIS IT companies has participated in the Japan IT Week, on April 5-7, 2023, which is known as the meeting place for IT professionals in Asia. The delegation is led by BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed.
At the Japan IT Week, 11 member company of BASIS will showcase their services at the Bangladesh Pavilion. Thecompanies are: LeadSoft Bangladesh Limited, Nascenia, Brain Station 23, Kawaii Advanced Technology & Solution Limited, BJIT Limited, DreamOnline Limited, Attrabit ICT Solution, Edusoft Consultants Ltd, E-Tracker Solution, Deshlink Limited and XCEED Bangladesh Limited.
