Leaders of Basic Bank Limited unit of Bangabandhu Parishad paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tongipara in Gopalganj on Sunday marking his birth centenary.
General Managers of Basic Bank Ltd Ahmed Hossain, Hasan Tanvir, Md Abul Kalam Azad and Md. Mominul Haque, Deputy General Manager and Convener of the unit Md. Musa Khan, Shankar Talukder, Tariqul Islam Tareq, Tongipara upazilla Awami League President Sheikh Abul Bashar Khair, General Secretary Md. Babul Sheikh, Tongipara Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Basic Bank’s Tongipara Branch Manager KM Wahidul Islam, Kotalipara Branch Manager Md Belal Hossain and other officers and employees of the bank were present at the time.
After placing the wreaths, they offered Fateha there. They also joined a special prayer seeking for salvation of the souls of Bangabandhu and his family members who were martyred on August 15 in 1975, and well-being and long life of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The officers of the bank and leaders of Bangabandhu Parishad also signed the inspection book preserved in Bangabandhu Bhaban. Later, AGM of the organisation was held at the rest house adjacent to the mausoleum with Dr Shankar Talukder in the chair.
