Bashundhara Kings face off Mohun Bagan in a crucial encounter today

After having enormous trouble, finally Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings left Dhaka for Bhubaneswar on Monday at 7:30am to play their crucial match of AFC Cup at away ground against Mohun Bagan Super Giants to take place today at the Kalinga Stadium. Bashundhara Kings had to suffer too much trouble before their crucial match against Mohun Bagan Super Kings of India due to issuing India visas for the players and the team officials. Bashundhara Kings who suffered a 3-1 goal defeat in their away match to Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives, bounced back to winnings track at their home ground defeating Odisha FC by 2-1.

Now, Kings are in must win situation after losing their first match to move forward and the win will keep them on race to qualify in the knockout stage. Before to play the today’s match, Mohun Bagan Super Giants are leading the points table at the top after securing back-to-back wins against Odisha FC and Maziya Sports and Recreation Club.

Today’s clash turned a crucial for both sides when both the coaches Juan Ferrando of Mohun Bagan team and Oscar Bruzon of Bashundhara Kings are eager to maintain their momentum and secure all three points.

As if Mohun Bagan could confirm three points from today’s match, it would be strengthen their chance to move into the knockout phase. 

 But Bashundhara Kings, who prepared to leave the country on 21 or 22nd October for Bhubaneswar to play their away match but lack of proper cooperation from AIF and issuing visas by India High Commission, players and the Kings’ team members had to go at the eleventh hour.

Bashundhara Kings, who had already bought their tickets for travelling to Bhubaneswar had to cancel the Air tickets for twice only for the difficulties of issuing Visa by Indian High Commission. 

Finally, Bashundhara Kings was bound to make complain to AFC detailing the enormous trouble. 

Bangladesh Premier League champions lastly left Dhaka and arrived Kolkata on 12 noon on Monday and was scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar by 2pm on same day when they will play the match today. 

The match between Bashundhara and Mohun Bagan was shifted to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata Salt lake Stadium.   

Meanwhile, Abahani Limited had also suffer such a trouble ahead of their Playoff match of the AFC Cup against Mohun Bagan when the Bangladesh Premier League runners up team had to go Kolkata just before the match-day. 

Bashundhara Kings after suffering defeat in the AFC Champions League Playoff matches are playing in the final phase of the AFC Cup. 

After too much sufferings before to reach in Bhubaneswar some 30 hours ahead of the match and having no enough practice sessions before the match, it would be very tough for Bangladesh champions to demonstrate their usual performances.
