Bashundhara continue winning run

A late strike from Robson Robinho helped Bashundhara Kings to escape with full three points after a solitary goal victory against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football on Monday. 

It was a sixth round match for Bashundhara, who were one point behind to the table toppers Abahani Limited before this match, went on the top after winning the match against Sheikh Russel.

Held at the Bashundhara Sports Complex, the home side and also the favourites had to struggle much, as the visitors gave immense trouble throughout 90 minutes game and finally conceded the solitary goal defeat. Bashundhara Kings, after a woeful start with suffering 1-2 defeat at the hands of newcomers Swadhinota KS in the very first match of the league, kept the winning run with their successive fifth win.

Against the Russel defenders’ stubborn confrontation, Bashundhara had to wait a long 82 minutes to break the deadlock when Robson Robinho salvaged the champions converting a penalty on 83rd minute (1-0). 

In the day’s other match of the league at the Shaheed Dhirendranatch Datta Stadium, Cumilla Mohammedan Sporting Club shared points with Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club after a one all draw. 

The reining runners up Sheikh Jamal despite drew the match kept their unbeaten run when they won three and drew as many matches. 

On the other hands, Mohammedan could manage two wins, three draws and suffered a defeat out of the six encounters.

Jamal despite taking lead with Solomon Kings struck two minutes after the half an hour mark of the game (1-0), failed to keep up the lead.

Souleymane Diabate level the margin for Mohammedan SC in the injury period of the opening 45 minutes (1-1).
