Farmers of Kishoreganj had a training and field day on modern technology of floating agriculture arranged by Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) on Monday (15 February). Director General of the institute, Dr. Md. Nazirul Islam had the chair of chief guest at the function.
30 farmers from different upazilas were imparted practical knowledge on cultivation of vegetables and spices in floating beds. Moreover, 160 farmers from different upazilas were shown the technology of cultivating vegetables and spices in floating beds.
Chief Scientific Officer of BARI and head of Field Research Department, Dr. Md. Akkas Ali presided over the event. Conducted by Mohammad Mohiuddin, Senior Scientific Officer of Kishoreganj Agricultural research Sub-Center, the programe had the speeches of Director (Planning and Evaluation) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Barisal Regional Agricultural Research Center Chief Scientific Officer Md. Rafiuddin and Floating Agricultural Project (Bari Anga) Project Director Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman.
