BARD distributes agri inputs in Munshigan

Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Cumilla, distributed different components among the beneficiaries of the action research project “Livelihood Improvement of Char lands (shoals) People through Adaptation Practices” at Charchasi Village of Gajaria in Munshiganj on Saturday.

Sixty beneficiaries received 4,000 thunder resistant palm and date tree seedlings, windbreak, wood-yielding, fruits and medicinal tree seedlings along with different hybrid seasonal vegetable seeds and seedlings. Besides, five farmers received nine mound seed of Aman paddy.

Moreover, to create entrepreneurs, five vulnerable widowed women beneficiaries of the project received five sewing machines and one beneficiary got a Kalyan Incubator invented by BARD along with 125 eggs of high yielding profitable variety to be hatched. 

By maintaining proper health hygiene and maintaining physical distance, BARD officials distributed these materials.  The concerned project director Md. Reaz Mahmud, assistant project director Md. Mosharaf Hossain Bhuiyan, and a local Union Parishad representative were present at the programme.
