It’s fair to say Antoine Griezmann’s time at Barcelona has been underwhelming so far.
Since joining from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth €120m this summer, the Frenchman has netted three times in nine appearances but his performances suggest he is yet to truly click with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and co, report agencies.
And Barca’s very public pursuit of Neymar suggested to many that they didn’t really want to sign Griezmann.
Now, French outlet Le10sport claim the LaLiga giants will reignite their interest in Neymar next summer and could offer Griezmann to Paris Saint-Germain as a makeweight in the deal. Neymar was certainly keen on a return to Camp Nou this summer but the Brazilian will now reluctantly stay in the French capital for at least one more season. He is still under contract until June 2022.
Asked after Barcelona’s Champions League victory over Inter on Wednesday about his relationship with Messi, Griezmann admitted: “It has been difficult to get to know each other.
“Neither of us are individuals who like to talk a lot, and he has spent a lot of time injured – so we have not been able to work together a lot on the training pitch.”
