Allegation of irregularities has been raised in preparing the final voter's list of the members of  Bangladesh Agro Processors' Association (BAPA) ahead of its election, scheduled to be held in the month of September.

Names of 33 voters have been cancelled from the list with some particular reasons whereas it is alleged that there have 22 other voters exist in the final list despite having the similar allegations like the rejected 33 members.

Some of the real businessmen are being rejected whereas some are getting opportunity to be voters showing false papers, so all these are creating uncertainty about holding the election.

Some of the insiders allege that some members of the election board, appeal board and some office staff of the association may have their involvement behind this nepotism.

Earlier, a total of 33 members were cancelled from the primary voters list showing some reasons. The  voters include  Raju Ahmed of RMP Manufacture Pvt. Ltd., Nurjahan Begum of Muhith International, Gulshan Parvin of Beauti Food and Beverage Limited, Md. Nizam Uddin Chowdhury of Platinum Food and Beverage Ltd., Humayun Kabir of Bengal Agro Industries Limited, Shariful Islam of Arif Agro Industries.

Major reason shown behind cancellation of their names include the TIN Certificate was not verified, not submission of income tax return, outstanding annual fees etc.

Meanwhile it is alleged that  some other 22 members have been included in the voters list in spite of not submitting their tax return for the FY 2022-23. Some other have become voters showing false papers while some organisations including Bangla Agro Food Exchange Ltd. were rejected despite submitting all the required papers.

A total of 247 voters have been included in the final voters list of BAPA.

The election of the board is scheduled to be held on September 2. Last date for submission of nomination papers is from July 29 to August 2.
