The central bank has asked scheduled banks to keep open all branches located in commercial areas of both Dhaka and Chattagram from 10:00am to 3:00pm, even if the areas are identified as red zones.

The commercial areas are Motijheel and Dilkusha in the capital and Khatungonj along with Agrabad in the port city, Chattagram.

Transaction time for the four selected areas has been fixed from 10:00am to 2:00 pm, according to a notification, issued by the Bangladesh Bank (BB), on Monday night.

On the other hand, all other branches located at red zones across the country will remain closed but in the case of principal offices or headquarters of any banks in that areas have been instructed to keep open from 10 am to 4:00 pm following health guidlines, a BB senior official told the FE.
