‘Bankers keen to provide loan to good entrepreneurs’

Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Chairman Mohammad Ismail said bankers are always interested to provide loan to the real businessmen and good entrepreneurs to boost up the country’s economic progress.

The businessmen and entrepreneurs should work with sincerity and honesty to utilize the finance of banks, he said while addressing the closing ceremony of a two-day Entrepreneurship Expo and Elevator Pitch-2019 organized by the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) at its campus, said a press release today.

Speaking on the occasion, DScE Chairman Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad the institution has been developing skill manpower for the betterment of the country. He urged the government and private institutions to put more emphasis on developing skilled manpower.

Dr. Ireen Akther, Professor of IBA of Jahangirnagar University, said a good number of potential entrepreneurs became derailed due to the failure of implementation of their ideas.

Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin, former Professor of Management Studies of Dhaka University, Syed Nasir, Managing Director of Q Pail, and Rehana Parvin and Sara Tasneem, Assistant professors of DScE, among others, also spoke on the occasion. Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Economics of DScE, chaired the sessions of the seminar.

In the concluding remarks, he put emphasis on entrepreneurship development in the specialized sectors, especially medical sector to develop inbound medical tourism in the country.

In the two days expo, around 37 papers were presented from home and abroad. Besides, seven young entrepreneurs and seven students for good result in HSC/A level examination were given reception at the event.Best paper award went to Dr Yashoda Durge, GNVS Institute of Management, Mumbai, India for his presentation titled “Entrepreneurship Ecosystem”.
