Senior officials of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) have been asked to work sincerely by maintaining transparency to turn BKB into a profitable one, reports BSS.
“BKB incurred a loss of Taka around 970 crore in the 2018-2019 fiscal year. The senior officials should perform their best and give all-out effort to come out from this loss,” Chairman of BKB Mohammad Ismail came up with the remark today (Wednesday) at the day-long divisional conference -2019 in Khulna held at CSS AVA center in the city as chief guest. Acting general manager of BKB in Khulna division Milon Kumar Nandi presided over the conference while AGM of BKB in Khulna divisional office Sikder Towhidul Islam conducted the event.
A total of 105 BKB officials including regional audit officer, chief regional manager, divisional audit officer and 88 branch managers in Khulna division attended the conference.
BKB chairman Ismail put special emphasis on new agricultural credit disbursement facility for all agricultural families along with regular loan disbursement, loan recovery, deposit mobilization & remittance collection. He directed the officials to achieve 100 percent target to turn every branch into a profitable one.
He asked the bank management to formulate a work plan and give necessary direction to the field level workforce for its proper implementation to transform the financial institution into a profit- earning organization. Side by side with disbursement of loans, he asked the authorities concerned to recover classified and outstanding loans from clients.
Laying emphasis on providing better services to the farmers, the BKB chairman asked the field level officials to make the loan disbursement process easy for investment in various sectors especially software, agro- processing and IT business, agriculture, plantation, fisheries, poultry, tissue culture and leather goods. Officials said BKB is organising divisional level conference across the country aiming to achieve 100 percent target in collecting fund, loan disbursement and earn expected profit.
