Under the refinancing scheme of Bangladesh Bank, open loans have been distributed by Bank Asia among marginal customers in Chapainawabganj recently.
On this occasion, an Open Loan Disbursement Program was organized under Tk 750 crore revolving refinancing scheme for marginal/landless farmers, low-income professionals, school banking account holders and small businessmen with accounts of Tk 10/50/100.
Bank Asia PLC organized the event as the lead bank, and other scheduled banks operating in the district, participated collectively.
Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank attended the event as chief guest. The event was held at the Town Club Hall room in Chapainawabganj on July 3. Rup Ratan Pine, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank were present as special guests.
The event was presided over by ANM Mahfuz, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Bank Asia.
At the event, a total of 2.75 crore taka loans were distributed among 221 customers, of which Bank Asia distributed 6.9 million taka loans among 116 customers.
