‘Bangladeshi music going global’

An international collaboration project titled ‘Woh Paal’ has been composed by musicians from four countries Bangladesh, USA, Argentina, and Austria. It is originally a soft, classical and RNB genre song mixed in Bengali and Hindi.

Three young Bangladeshi singers have sung the song Sadya Khan, Rangan Hriday and Zawad Khalid. The song is composed by Mohammad Salauddin.

The whole idea of this collaboration was musician Zawad Khalid’s. Since, childhood he has been practicing music, he learnt music from his mother.  Although it started with singing, later in 2019 one of Zawad’s written song was sung by popular Bangladeshi singer and actor Tahsan Khan and was widely acclaimed.  Zawad has also worked with Shafin Ahmed, Mila, Aditi Rahman Dola, Amid Hossain Chowdhury and many more. He has also done several programmes on various popular TV and radio channels of the country including Radio Today, NTV, Banglavision, and ATN Bangla.  

Regarding the context while in a conversation with Bangladesh Post, the musician Zawad Khalid said, "We hope this song which is composed by four countries will have a place in the minds of the listeners. As a Bangladeshi, we feel very good and we are proud. We want Bangladeshi language and music to take place all over the world.”

 “Argentine musician Lucciano Pizzichini, youngest musician who is sponsored by popular guitar company Gibson Guitar, The Brand Ambassador of MTD, GhS Strings, Tsunami Cables, Bartolini Pickups & Electronics- Matthew Meyers from USA was on Bass Guitar. Austrian music producer/sound engineer guitarist Alex Siedler is very happy to work on the song. They have expressed their desire to work with Bangla music in the future as well. The lyrical version of the song will be released on Zawad Khalid's official YouTube channel in middle of November, he further added.

The song ‘ Woh Paal’ has already been released on all international streaming platforms as Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, Amazon Music & many more through American music distribution company Quantize Music Entertainment.
