Bangladeshi girls clinch SAAF U-19 championship

Bangladeshi girls have crushed their Indian counterparts at the final match of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship to become unbeaten champions. 

Bangladesh booters earned the title defeating India in the thrilling match at Kamalapur Football Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Anai Mogini scored the winning and only goal for Bangladesh. Every corner of the gallery cheered when she scored the goal at the 82nd minute of the match.

The Bangladeshi girls burst into celebration as soon as the 90-minute match ended.

Bangladesh missed several chances to score a goal in the first half. However, they geared up in the second half and scored a goal to secure the win.

From the very beginning, Bangladeshi girls started charging the opponents. Two magnificent shots from Bangladesh side hit the crossbar. But, they did not lose hope and finally succeeded.

The only goal scorer Anai Mogini in an immediate reaction expressed her joy and thanked all for the support. “I’m very happy as we have won the final match of such a big tournament. I tried to hit the ball to the target and finally I did it,” she said.

Maria Manda, the captain of Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s Team, said, “We’re very happy as we won the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship title. We thank everyone for the support.”

Shaheda Akter Ripa from Bangladesh team won the ‘Most Valuable Player of the Tournament’ award.

After an extraordinary showdown throughout the tourney, the girls raised the trophy with great dignity. The champion team celebrated their victory in a grand style. Every corner of the stadium was filled with the supporters of Bangladesh. They hailed the magic of the Bangladesh female booters. 

The coach of Bangladesh U-19 Women’s Team and officials of the Bangladesh Football Federation hailed the players for the wonderful football match.
