Artworks by 25 young Bangladeshi artists are being displayed at the prestigious Malaysia International Art Exhibition, alongside creations from artists representing Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, Canada, and Australia.
The exhibition, titled ‘World Peace and Friendship: Celebrating Unity Through Art’, is jointly organized by The Pink Jambu 2.0 and the National Sculpture Gallery (NSG), an international artists’ group from Bangladesh. Supported by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), the event is taking place at the Creative Media & Technology Hub (CMTHub) in Malaysia.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Md Shameem Ahsan formally inaugurated the exhibition on Friday. In his speech, the High Commissioner praised the initiative, saying, “This event is not just an art exhibition; it is a meaningful celebration of creativity, cross-cultural dialogue, and international friendship.”
The programme is curated by Imran Hossen, a young Bangladeshi artist and curator currently pursuing his PhD at MMU University, Malaysia. “An international art showcase is a great opportunity for artists, and I am trying to highlight Bangladeshi art and culture through artwork across the world,” Imran said.
Among the distinguished guests were Mosammat Shahanara Monica, Minister (Political) at the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Associate Professor Datin Dr Norazida Mohamed, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (International) of UiTM, Dr Syahrul Fitri Musa, Head of CMTHub UiTM, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Idaya Husna Mohd, Director of International Affairs at UiTM. The exhibition features a collection of paintings, sculptures, and installations reflecting messages of peace, harmony, and friendship, earning wide appreciation for promoting global unity through art.
