Unorthodox rain for last two days immensely interrupted the preparation of the Bangladesh national cricket team’s practice ahead of the ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup and the upcoming three-nation tournament in New Zealand, though the players have been working hard at the indoor.
Meanwhile, newly appointed technical consultant of the national team Sreedharan Sriram of India, though started his three-day camp on Monday to watch keenly the players but due to sporadic rain for last two days players’ practice could not run smoothly while there was not a single ball was bowled yesterday (Tuesday).
Bangladesh is yet to decide who will play as openers. The former Indian all-rounder Sriram, who was appointed as a T-20 specialist, could not do his experimentation with the batters and the bowlers due to rain. But as much as possible he had the opportunity to watch keenly almost all the players at indoor yesterday and few times on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, his plan is Liton Das will play at four and Afif at five position and those are the perfect position for the batters like them. However, Khaled Mahmud Sujon former national team captain and the team’s leader after the team’s indoor session, tipped off that the batting order from one to four would be settled immediately and might be there would be some changes at the middle order.
