Following the closely contested 1-1 draw in the first match, Bangladesh and Nepal national women football teams will play their second off two-match series FIFA international friendly today.

The match will take place at the BirSreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium at 5:30pm.

Bangladesh narrowly missed the win in the first match, when they led the encounter up to 90 minutes scheduled time but conceded the equalizer goal in the second minute of the injury period.

After the one all draw in the first match, both the sides are keen to win the series decider match, as the players put across their expectation on Saturday during a practice session.

The two-match series turned into a prestigious encounter for both the sides, Bangladesh defeated Nepal at their home ground last year in the SAFF Championship final by 3-1 tot the title.

Nepal are ahead of Bangladesh in FIFA ranking and are also have better winning record in head to head when the visitors won five matches out of nine meetings and Bangladesh won just one and rest of three matches were drawn.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh women maintained their unbeaten record in nine matches in a row when since September 26, 2021 to July 13, 2022, they won seven and drew two.  Today’s match turned into very challenging for both sides when Bangladesh will try to prove their supremacy over the visitors after their 3-1 in the SAFF Championship final last year in Katmandu, when Nepal will also not leave any stone unturned to win the match to take revenge of their defeat at home ground.

However, Bangladesh, despite playing international match after a long 10 months interval and with a lot of setback did not disappoint in their first match as they drew the first match.

Bangladesh women team, since their SAFF Championship final in Katmandu, Nepal in September 19, 2022 when they celebrated their maiden title of the tournament, did not play match before their previous match.  Bangladesh team, apart from a long interval at the international arena, they played the match without some of their vital players and their longtime coach Golam Rabbani Choton.

Due to away from international circuit for a long time, the team looked a bit disorganized and the combinations were also not up to the mark but their fighting spirit and the determination of winning match was remarkable.
