Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim led from front, with an impressive allround performance to steer Bangladesh Under-19 team to warm up well defeating mighty India by 27 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE on Tuesday.
Tamim, he captain of the Bangladesh youngsters hammered 75 runs as the junior Tigers piled up a modest 217 for seven wickets in stipulated 50 overs after deciding to bat first.
Apart from skipper Tami, Debashis Sakar was the other notable contributor with scoring 40.
Tamim following his captain’s knock dazzled with the ball by claiming four wickets conceding only 15 runs, which was significant effort in bowling out India youngsters for just 190 in 39.5 overs.
Siddarth struggled much to score an unbeaten 56 while Amaan made 30.
Rafiuzzaman Rafi joined Tamim with snapping up two wickets for 22 runs to celebrate the win.
Bangladesh slated in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal.
Bangladesh youngsters will begin their campaign with taking on Afghanistan tomorrow (November 29).
They will then face off Nepal and Sri Lanka on December 1 and 3 respectively.
All the Group B matches will take place in Dubai while Group A matches will be held in Sharjah.
The final of the tournament is scheduled for December 8 in Dubai.
