The coronavirus pandemic situation in the country has been considerably under control at the present time. This has happened due government’s extensive vaccination drive and other time befitting measures.

In South Asia, Bangladesh tops the list of the countries that have turned around after overcoming the pandemic. According to the Japanese media Nikkei, Bangladesh is on the top of Asia's Covid-19 recovery index in South Asia.

The index assesses countries and regions on infection management, vaccine rollouts and social mobility. The higher the ranking, the closer a place is to recovery -- with low infections, higher inoculation rates and less-strict social distancing measures.

Our government has ensured mass vaccination, social awareness, corona dedicated hospital facility, telemedicine service and rapid corona test facility to curb the infections and deaths in the country.

Experts opine that the Covid-19 situation in the country has improved significantly in the last couple of weeks. The government’s speedy vaccination programmes, relentless services of doctors and nurses and awareness of people have made it possible.

People still need to maintain health and hygiene rules such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus from person to person, even after getting vaccines.

We know that the vaccination drive is really pivotal in decreasing the rate of new infections and deaths, which will ultimately lead us to end the pandemic. Currently, for herd immunity, we are really far away from vaccinating the maximum number of people in the country. Therefore, it is important for our country to continue widespread vaccination drives.
