Bangladesh an innocent victim of climate change, earnestly strives for shifting its vulnerability towards resilience to prosperity under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The country has successfully engaged itself with the global community in the fight against climate change playing the lead role in several international forums.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin said this while one member Belgium Delegation, Professor Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, former Vice-Chair of Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change, called on minister in his office room in Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday. Environment Minister said Bangladesh appreciates Belgium as well as the Europeon Union for the decade-long support to Bangladesh in combating the adverse effects of climate change and protecting the Nature and Environment. We are looking forward to working closely with Belgium in the endeavor of thowerting adverse effect of climate change and building a climate resilient green world.
Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Habibun Nahar, Secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Admin) Iqbal Abdullah Harun, Additional Secretary (Climate Change) Md. Moniruzzaman were also present in the occasion.
