To spread the message of humanity, compassion, and love during the holy month of Ramadan, an emotional Iftar gathering and prayer programme was held with underprivileged children at the Bangladesh Scouts Bhaban located at Kakrail in the capital city of Dhaka on Thursday evening.

The event took place at Shams Hall of Bangladesh Scouts Bhaban in participation with more than a hundred children from Ticket to Life (TTL), a team formed with underprivileged children. Amid the busy city life, the evening gathering reflected a beautiful atmosphere of love, compassion, and humanity.

A total of 10 TTL units participated in the event: Padma Unit, Meghna Unit, Jamuna Unit, Karnaphuli Unit, Surma Unit, Turag Unit, Buriganga Unit, Brahmaputra Unit, Dhaleshwari Unit, and Shitalakshya Unit. More than a hundred underprivileged children from these units shared the joy of Iftar together.

Units located outside Dhaka that could not travel to the capital also organized Iftar gatherings and distributed Eid gifts to children in their respective districts on the same day. As a result, this beautiful initiative of love and compassion spread across different parts of the country simultaneously.

The program was attended by Mr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, PS, Foreign Affairs Adviser, Prime Minister’s Office, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Mr. Md. Shamsul Haque, Executive Director (Acting), Bangladesh Scouts; Mr. Swapan Kumar Das, Director (TTL), Bangladesh Scouts; Khandaker Nasim Haider, PRS; Mr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Project Director (Cub Expansion Project); and Mr. Md. Abu Saleh, Regional Director of Rail, River and Air Region.

Before Iftar, the guests spent time with the children, inquired about their wellbeing, and spoke with them about their dreams and future aspirations. When more than a hundred children raised their hands together in prayer at the moment of Iftar, the entire hall was filled with a deeply emotional atmosphere. After Iftar, Eid gifts were distributed among the children, bringing bright smiles to their faces.

It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh Scouts organizes such humanitarian programs every year with street children, orphans, and underprivileged children. Receiving good food, care, and Eid gifts allows these children, even for a short time, to forget the hardships and deprivation of their daily lives.

This initiative is not just an Iftar program; it is a message to society—that standing beside underprivileged children is our true humanitarian responsibility. Through this event, Bangladesh Scouts once again set a remarkable example of compassion and humanity.
