Bangladesh’s ‘Transit’ at two international film festivals

The short film ‘Transit’ directed by Tariq Anam Khan is going to be screened at two famous international film festivals.

Due to the global coronavirus epidemic, this time the Encounters Film Festival will be held online. The film ‘Transit’ will be screened at the event from September 17 to 27. 

Short films were nominated for Oscars and BAFTA awards from this film festival. On the other hand, the Busan Film Festival will be held in Korea from October 21 to 30. It is the largest film festival in Asia. ‘Transit’ will take part in the main competition at the two film festivals, says a press release.

It is learned that the film ‘Transit’ tells the story of an ordinary struggling man from Dhaka city. The movie is based on the daily struggle of a hawker and his struggle for survival, his dream of going to Italy for a better life and various tensions.

Jahangir Alam has played the lead role in the film directed by Tariq Anam Khan. 

Mentionable, Sharmin Ankhi, Vaidyanath Saha, Khairul Alam Tipu, Sharif Hossain and many others have acted in the short film.
