Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek Sawpon has said Bangladesh is ranked 20th out of 200 countries in the world and number one in South Asia in terms of Coronavirus control. The death rate is also much lower than other countries.
Control of Coronavirus is a difficult task without medical treatment and mass awareness, the minister said adding that, in a country like America, 4,500 people died in a single day in Corona, while in Bangladesh, 8,000 people have not died in 10 months. It have been possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the roof of the newly constructed building of Pilot Girls High School and distributing blankets among the cold-stricken in Saturia Upazila of Manikganj on Saturday afternoon.
The health minister said the economic situation of many countries in the world has gone into minus. But our country is developing. Our economy is moving forward. Corona has not left the country yet. So everyone has to wear a mask.
Addressing the media, he said, "It is your job to provide news. When you serve news, people and the government become aware." Then the government can make the right decision.
"We will get the corona vaccine by the end of January," he said. We have completed some measures for vaccination and some measures are in progress. In the first phase, Corona fighters will receive the vaccine. Later all people will be brought under the vaccine.
