Bangladesh Post’s CU Correspondent achieves media award

Chittagong University (CU) Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Mahbub A Rahman won the ‘CUJA Media Award-2020’ in the investigative report category.

The award was handed over at the annual general meeting of Chittagong University Journalists' Association (CUJA) held at the conference room of CU Institute of Fine Arts in Chattogram city on Saturday.

Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Shireen Akhtar attended the function as the chief guest. CU Proctor Dr Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan and others were present at the event. The CU VC and other guests handed over the award to Mahbub. 

Mahbub was nominated for the award for his investigative report titled ‘Save shuttle train from accident’ published in daily Bangladesh Post on July 20 in 2019. 

The news item drew the attention of the university authorities. 

After this news was published in the English daily, the university administration became vibrant on this issue and the next day the renovation work of the railway started. Later, a follow-up news on that issue was published in Bangladesh Post on August 4 in 2019.

It may be mentioned that Mahbub A Rahman has been working as the Chittagong University Correspondent of Bangladesh Post since April, 2019. Besides, he is also engaged in literary and cultural activities.

 His book titled 'Bhoot Sir' is scheduled to be published in this year’s book fair.

Editor-In-Chief of Bangladesh Post Sharif Shahab Uddin congratulated him on receiving this award.
