Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Md Shamsul Arefin informed that two fresh Mi-171A2 helicopters would be procured from JSC Russian Helicopters on G to G basis.

Mi-171A2 is a medium-class civil passenger transport helicopter developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters.

The Mi-171A2 helicopter is incorporated with the best qualities of the Mi-8/17 series. The helicopter is an improved version of Mi-171A1, which was manufactured by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. The new helicopter features upgraded main rotor and gear systems, as well as fuselage and propulsion systems.

Arefin informed that the meeting partially approved another proposal from the Ministry of Commerce for amending two sections of the existing Import Policy Order 2015-18. The proposal for amending a section of the order was not given approval in the meeting and it would be submitted again before the CCEA after further scrutiny.
