Millions of people in Bangladesh on Friday mourned the deaths of the Palestinians killed and injured in the recent Israeli attacks.
The mourning took place in all the mosques, temples, churches, monastries and synagogues and other holy sites across the country as per a pre-announcement for the occasion.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday announced that Bangladesh will observe one-day state mourning on Saturday for the Palestinians killed in recent Israeli attacks.
She also called for offering prayers for the Palestinian victims in all mosques after jumma and other places of worship across the country on Friday. The victims of the brutal Israeli attack s are not only Muslims, but also Christian and Jews, she said.
Following her announcement the Cabinet Division issued a notification on Thursday. "The government decided that state mourning will be observed for the Palestinians, killed by the barbaric attacks of Israeli occupation forces in different areas of Palestine, including Gaza," the notification said.
Muslims offered the main prayer at the National Mosque in the city’s Baitul Mukarram which was conducted by its Khatib Hafez Mawlana Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin attended by thousands of devotees at the mosque after the Jummah prayers.
The devotees sought eternal peace for the departed souls and early recovery of those wounded during the Israeli raids.

In Sylhet, where special prayers for the Palestinians were offered in mosques including at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal where thousands of devotees gathered. At the Dhakeshwari Temple, the largest and oldest one of its kind, thousands of Hindu Devotees also offered special prayers while Chritians, Buddhitists and members of other religions also offered special prayers for the Palestinian departed souls killed in the Israeli raids.
In Barishal, a protest rally, under the banner of Khilafat-e-Majlish, was brought out following the special prayers after the Friday Jummah namaz in the city.
Meanwhile, earlier Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said on Thursday that the nation will observe a National Day of Mourning for the killings in Gaza.
"National flags will be hoisted at half-mast on Saturday," The Prime Minister said.

At least 3,785 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Thursday. It said more than 12,000 victims have been injured.
The ministry put the Palestinian death toll in the occupied West Bank at 69, with 1,300 injured. Israel launched non-stop airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after Hamas attacked Israeli border towns.
Gaza is experiencing a dire humanitarian crisis, with no electricity, while water, food, fuel, and medical supplies are running out.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged for an - “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” to ease the “epic human suffering.”

Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said Bangladesh will be in the fight to establish the rights of Palestinian people as repeated attacks on the Palestine can never be accepted.
“Our stance is that this war will have to be stopped soon. The Palestinian people should get back their due lands occupied by Israel. The lands will have to be given back the lands to the people of Palestine,” she said.
Referring to the her Wednesday’s meeting with envoys of OIC member countries based in Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina said she told the envoys that all have to fight unitedly for establishing the rights of Palestinian people.
“We’re also with them. We’ll have to fight. The repeated attacks on them can never be accepted. We can’t accept it,” she said.
She said Bangladesh has already condemned the way Israel killed Palestinians – innocent people including women and children by attacking a hospital and other places in Palestine.
“It is unbearable to see blood stained faces of children who were killed or injured in bombing attacks by Israel,” she said.
She said Bangladesh will send medicines, dry foods and other necessary items for the people of war-torn Palestine.
“We will send medicines, dry food and necessary commodities for women and children. We’ve taken this step. We’re always beside the dressed people with whatever resources we have,” she added.
The PM already asked the health ministry to take steps for sending medicines to the Palestinians.
