"Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman liberated the country that's why we are able to become big businessmen, owners of industries, banks etc., beginning from zero, today Bangladesh is on the way of becoming a trillion dollar economy whereas nothing of these could be possible unless the country was liberated. That's why we are ever grateful and indebted to Bangabandhu , said newly elected FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam on Friday.
Mahbub said Bangabandhu has given us an independent territory and his worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina has given us economic emancipation. She has been trying relentlessly to materialize Bangabandhu's dream to turn the country into 'Sonar Bangla'. Today the size of business and economy is growing bigger, export of traditional and non-traditional products is increasing significantly.
FBCCI President came up with the remarks while talking to newsmen at the Bangabandhu's grave at Tungipara, Gopalganj as the newly elected board of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) visited the Bangabandhu's grave to pay tribute to him.
FBCCI leaders observed one minute silence at the grave and offered doa for the salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members, assassinated on August 15.
Former FBCCI President and Chairman of Industry and Trade affairs Sub-Committee of Awami League Qazi Akram Uddin Ahmad, Member of the Sub-committee, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, former FBCCI President, Sheikh Fazle Fahim, FBCCI Senior Vice President, Amin Helali, , Vice President Khairul Huda Chapal, Md Anwar Sadat Sarker, Dr. Jashoda Jibon Debnath, Shomi Kaiser were present among others.
