The Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, launched e-passport service on Saturday.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia M Allama Siddiqui inaugurated the e-passport programme, a press release said.
Director General (DG) of the Department of Immigration and Passport (DIP) Major General Md Nurul Anwar was present at the inauguration ceremony.
In the event, the High Commissioner hoped that the latest technology used in the e-passport would accelerate its credibility and acceptance and also improve the quality and reputation of Bangladeshi passports in the outside world.
