Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber elects new executives

The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) elected Raquib Mohammad Fakhrul President and Mahbubul Alam General Secretary for the next year in its annual general meeting on Saturday.

Fakhrul is the Chairman of Ayurvedia Pharmacy (Dacca) Ltd while Alam is the Director & Chief Operating Officer of Quasem Food Products Limited. Md. Anwar Shahid, Managing Director of Shimex International Ltd, and Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO of Robi Axiata Limited, are the new Vice Presidents. Goonahlam Subramaniam, Director of K-Link International Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd, and Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, In Charge of GD Assist Ltd, have been elected as Joint Secretary General and Treasurer respectively for the same period.  The other elected directors are KM Mijanur Rahman, Managing Director of Maria Food Products Ltd.; Jamilur Rahman, Managing Director of Extol (Bangladesh) Ltd.; Rubaiyat Ahsan, Managing Director of ALLIANT Limited; Mohammad Ershad Hussain Rana, Chairman & CEO of Dawn Trading International; Farzana Chowdhury, Director of Nascom (Pvt) Ltd.; AKM Shamsuzzaman, Proprietor of Green Traders; Engr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Managing Director of Lecture Publications Ltd; Mahbub Alam Shah, Executive Director of SMH New Generation Apparels Ltd.; Md. Motaher Hoshan Khan, Director of Bengal Technological Corporation Ltd.; and Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, Director Finance of Krishibid Firm Limited.

Founded in 2014, the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber’s main purpose is to develop relations between Malaysian and Bangladeshi business community and to encourage, facilitate and support trade and investments between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
