Bangladesh and India cricketing ties go back to more than three decades, when the Bangladesh Cricket Board-administered side was still an associate member of the ICC. It was only in 2000 when the Tigers became full members and were given the Test status by ICC. They played their first Test match against India in Dhaka, where visitors won by nine wickets.

The first match between India and the Bangladesh cricket team was in an ODI, played in the 1988 Asia Cup. The Dilip Vengsarkar-led side floored their opposition by nine wickets after an impeccable bowling performance restricted Bangladesh to 99/8 in 45 overs. The Indian cricket team eventually went on to clinch the Asia Cup title for the second time in the tournament’s history, after winning the inaugural edition in 1984.

All-in-all, the two sides have squared off in 65 encounters across formats, with India having a dominant record in all three disciplines of the game.

Here’s a look at the two teams’ records in each format.
