Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said Bangladesh is a land of great opportunity and there have lots of opportunities in the country untapped so far. Minister made the remarks while speaking at the 'America Bangladesh Business Convention 2019' as the chief guest at the Samson H. Chowdhury Centre in the Dhaka Club on Wednesday evening.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury also said the present government started its journey in 2009 with the commitment to build a poverty-free and non-discriminatory prosperous Bangladesh with a clear goal of achieving vision 2021 envisaged by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said Minister.
Minister called upon expatriate Bangladeshi, American entrepreneurs and business communities to invest more in Bangladesh. " I will urge upon the business community to take the opportunity to invest in Bangladesh and to import more quality products from Bangladesh” Minister said.
Speakers said that the business relationship with America should be properly utilized by Bangladesh. There is a great deal of information gap regarding investment opportunities in Bangladesh. Many of the US businessmen are unaware of Bangladesh's excellent economic development and investment opportunities. Steps should be taken to eliminate these.
Former US congressman Lawrance La Rocco presented a keynote speech at the convention. Directors of US2BD (American-Bangladesh Development Group) Robert Leggat, Mia Mujibur Rahman and Dr. Ali Afzal were the guests of honor while Dr. Julifa Haider Mohammed Noor A Alam presided over the event.
