Speakers at an event on Thursday viewed that Bangladesh has a robust and well entrenched domestic market for leather and non-leather footwear and goods with many local brands leading the market share.
Mentioning that globally it is viewed that Bangladesh as a production hub has hardly been tapped due to internal issues such as shifting of the industry to Savar and ETP related issues. Entry of Bangladesh into the Middle Income Group will fuel further growth with added disposable income amongst the local populace.
The event was organized by the ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd to inaugurate the 9th edition of LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2023, International Trade Show on Machinery, Components, Chemicals & Accessories for LEATHER, FOOTWEAR AND TRAVEL GOODS sector of Bangladesh between November 2 and 4 2023 at Expo Zone, International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka.
Nearly 200 exhibitors from 10 countries with Council for Leather Exports (CLE) & Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA), Confederation of Indian Footwear Industry (CIFI) pavilions from India, participating in the event.
Over the years LEATHERTECH Bangladesh has established itself as “The Leather Industry Networking Forum'' for the Footwear and Travel Goods sector. The exhibit profile is comprehensive and the local industry can benefit from the presence of global leaders at the three days show" said Nandagopal K. Director ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt.
