Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, if the neighboring country India had not cooperated with us in the liberation war, then we would not have got independence in just 9 months. We are grateful to India for that. India allowed the then Mujibnagar government to operate from 8th Theater Road in India to conduct the administration of the state. We are grateful to the country for this too. He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the Golden Jubilee celebrations organized by the Liberation War Generation Central Sangsad and in collaboration with the Muktijoddha Sangsad Children Command at the Engineers Institute Auditorium in the capital on Saturday.

He said that in 1947, the British divided India into two parts. Then the country was divided on the basis of two ethnic groups. But the Pakistanis started torturing the then people of East Pakistan, which became Bangladesh now, from the beginning. Even after winning the 1954 elections, they instigated riots in many places. Then Bangabandhu was arrested. Later Bangabandhu gave six points. Bangabandhu had to go to jail for that. Pakistanis did not hand over power to us even though we won the elections on 7 December 1969. Because they did not want to leave power in the hands of Bengalis. Later, Bangabandhu's historic speech on March 7, 1971 contained the declaration of the liberation war. Later on March 26 came the main declaration of independence, we jumped into the liberation war.

He said, we are building a monument in Ashuganj for the memory of the members of our allied forces who gave their lives during the liberation war. Which was inaugurated by our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Water problem with India still exists. We hope that the water problem will be solved through diplomatic relations and through this the relations between the two countries will be deepened.

Liberation War Affairs Minister said, Mujib Scholarship will be given to the children of allied forces. India provides free treatment to our freedom fighters. We hope that the diplomatic relations between our two countries will be very good and friendly to each other. Now who will strengthen the relationship between these two generations? I hope our relationship will move forward through them and wish them success.

Barrister Amir-ul Islam, author of the Declaration of Independence and founder of the Constitution, presided over the event.

At this time from the neighboring country India, among the children of the members of the allied forces during the liberation war, Jaideep Mukherjee, Dr Manas Banerjee, Kavi Bishnath Laha, Suparna Banerjee, Suraj Das, Upasana Banerjee.

Apart from that, the former member of Muktijoddha Sangsad secretary Fazle Ali, president of Bhola district Awami League Fazlul Quader, Muktijoddha Dr Abdul Baten, Barrister Tanya Ameer and others were also present as honored guests. Mehdi Hasan, President of the Liberation Generation Central Parliament and chief coordinator of Victory Golden Jubilee Celebration Board, presented the keynote speech and essay. The program was presented by Salim Reza, Program Coordinator of the Victory Golden Jubilee Celebration Board and Secretary General of the Liberation Generation Central Parliament. The senior vice president of the organization Masud Rana was also present at this time. At the end of the ceremony, crests were presented to the arriving guests.

Poet Bish Nath Laha, who came from India, reminisced about the liberation war period and said, we had an arms factory at Balurghat. There we built bunkers and fought. Many people say that Bangladesh has not improved but I am impressed by the progress of Bangladesh.
