Bangladesh are facing South Africa in their second match in the ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup which is very much crucial for both the Protease and the Tigers to stay on contention.
But the Tigers are facing a stiff hurdle to cross the South Africa challenge today at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), it is the first time for the both South Africa and Bangladesh are set to play a T20 match at this ground.
Tigers were very much fortunate having Netherlands in their Cup opener to have a winning start defeating the easy openers, which would be a great boost up for them for the next matches when South Africa despite had an easier opponents to have a winning start against Zimbabwe, rain washed out the match, as well the deserving win to force the them (SA) to share points.
As it’s a do or die match for both sides, both are on the field being under pressure when the pressure for the Tigers are of taking a tough opponents and for South Africans’ pains a little bit better than Bangladesh failing to grab full points in the first match.
Bangladesh though have no winning record in T-20 format against South Africa, this time the Tigers captain is very much optimistic to break the winning draught against the Protease when they are set to play a T20 at the SCG for the first time.
The winning start for Bangladesh is a big inspiration for Bangladesh, as they just step to the fore from a long time graceless status and today they need a huge mental intensity and the spirit they showed in their first match.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hassan, who always a man of starry-eyed and very much realistic has head off attention, and some of the pressure, towards the South African, as they badly need full points from this match after being forced to share points with Zimbabwe in their opener in Hobart.
South Africa have every possibility to get two crucial points against Bangladesh and are confident enough, as before the rain stopped play in Hobart on their way to chasing they posted 51 for 0 in just three overs in a revised target of 64 in nine overs against Zimbabwe when Quinton de Kock cracking away to an unbeaten 47 off 18. Tigers specifically had the strong backup from their fast bowlers to notch up their first-ever win in the Super 12s stage in the T-20 World Cup tournament defeating Netherlands.
Bangladesh are apparently expecting to repeat the performances against South Africa with the ball when Taskin Ahmed’s career-best figures of 4 for 25 and Hasan Mahmud crucial role by picking up two wickets in four overs and an encouraging opening stand of 43 in 5.1 over by Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar are huge soul-stirring for the Tigers for today’s match.
