Bangladesh envoy to Uzbekistan for removing barriers to Islamic finance

Md Zahangir Alam, Bangladesh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, today underscored the need for removing barriers of Islamic Finance and using the opportunities of this system.

He said this while speaking at the 2nd CIS Islamic Banking and Finance Forum as a guest of honour at Hyatt Regency in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, said a press release here.

AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics, UAE organized the forum.

The Forum was aimed to explore and discuss innovative financial inclusion strategies that can create clear pathways to financial and economic solutions.

Md Zahangir Alam in his speach echoed his thoughts and said that Islamic finance is the fastest growing area in Bangladesh as well as in CIS countries.

He laid emphasis on removing barriers of Islamic Finance and using the opportunities of this system.

"This financing system should be made easy and accessible to the poor and common people," he added. He highlighted that Islamic finance is not only developing its roots in Muslim countries but also in many non-Muslim countries which are getting benefited from it.

More than 20 countries participated in this prestigious event including the Middle East, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, South Africa, Pakistan, Uzbekistan etc.
